• What was the purpose of the Pharisees asking about divorce?

• What was Jesus' response to them?

• Why did Moses teach about certificates of divorce?  When was this allowed?

• How did the disciples respond to Jesus in verse 10?

• What did Jesus do with the children? What did Jesus say about them?

• What were the intentions of the young rich man who addressed Jesus about how to inherit eternal life?

• How did Jesus respond to the man?

• There are two profound statements in the section between verses 23 an 30.  What are they?

DIG DEEPER:

• What verse in Genesis did Jesus refer to in verse 5 and 6?

• What is an eunuch?

• Why is hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God?

APPLICATION:

• Have you experience divorce either in your own life or in someone close to you?  How does reading this chapter change your thoughts of divorce?

• This chapter states, "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God."  The reason I believe this is truth is because some rich people have their identity and security in their wealth.  Their money is their savior.   I do believe this can  be the case for other things in peoples' lives as well.  Do you have a savior other than Jesus?  Do you find your identity or security in money or something else?  If so what?  If you want Jesus to be your only Savior, I encourage you to tell Him that and ask Him to remove your idols. 

• What things do you need to bring to God in prayer, reciting this verse back to Him, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible" ?
