DIG DEEPER:

  • Why did Jesus not want the disciples to preach to the Gentiles or Samaritans?
  • How valuable are you to God?
  • What does verse 34 mean? 

APPLICATION:

  • Do ever feel like a "sheep among the wolves"?  In reading this chapter, how can you be encouraged? What wisdom can you take from this text?
  • Being "wise as serpents" and "innocent as doves", describe a situation how you could use this wisdom to be steadfast in persecution.
  • Jesus calls us to take up His cross, regardless of the cost.  For some, the cost might be family.  What are you willing to sacrifice in order to follow Jesus?  Is there anything in your life currently that is standing in the way of you giving Jesus your all?
