• How did Jesus end the parable? How does it compare to that of how he ended the parable of the lost sheep?
• What did the "prodigal son" do against his father?
• Why did he return to his father?
• How did the father respond to his return?
• How did the brother respond to his return?
• How does the parable end?

DIG DEEPER:

• What does it mean, "There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance"?
• How does the Parable of the Prodigal Son relate to the other two parables in this chapter?  
• What do each of these parables teach us?
