So this chapter isn't as freaky as the last one with the crazy looking locusts and horses with fire, smoke and sulfur coming out of their mouths. But we are introduced to a mighty angel who is wrapped in a cloud, has a rainbow over his head, his face like the sun and his legs like pillars of fire. His right foot was on the sea and his left foot was on land and when he called out, his voice roared like a lion. This angel had a rainbow over his head! I don't know about you but I've never seen a 5 foot rainbow! And his stride spans the sea and the land? That's one mighty angel! Again, just like I said about previous chapters, whether this is literal or metaphorical, we are supposed to understand that this angel is one incredible being. THIS IS JUST AN ANGEL. God made him. If this is just an angel and we get a pretty clear picture of how mighty he is, can you imagine how much more mighty God is? When we meet God one day- He will be so magnificant, so mighty, so powerful, so perfect in every way- the only thing we will want to do is worship Him. Marvelling at the description of this angel is one thing- but when we meet God face to face, it won't even be compare.
