Which of you slander God? Which of you rebel against Him? Which of you mock His followers? Which of you love to trash talk Christianity? Which of you makes war against Jesus? The army against God is great. But Jesus is greater. Verse 14: "They will make war on the Lamb (Jesus), and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and Kings of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful." For those of you who make war on Jesus there is a time coming when despite your beliefs- you WILL bow your knee to Him and you WILL confess Him to be King. Let me put it this way... (and I not trying to make a political point here at all...) Let's say you don't like the president. You voted against him and you know every president joke there is. You even have a bumper sticker on your car to advertise your opposing opinion. Funny thing is though, regardless of what you say about him, how you feel about him or how many bumper stickers or yard signs you put out- he is still president. Let's take it one step further. Let's say the president was in your city presenting a speech at an event. You go, and low and behold- he walks right past you, makes eye contact and sticks his hand out to shake yours. What do you think would happen if you started slandering him then? You'd get arrested- and maybe even shot depending on your measure of threat. In reality, you would have to show the president honor and respect because he is president otherwise there would be major reprocussions! The same is with Jesus, but on a much larger scale. Jesus is Lord, regardless of your opinion, what you choose to worship and regardless of how many bumper stickers are on your car against Him. Whether you decide to accept it or not He is your king. When He reaches out to you and you choose to slander Him or rebel against Him, the consequences aren't pretty. It's worse than just being arrested- that's for a season. The punishment is death, and that is eternal. If a president or king on earth can punish you for rebellion against them, why are you so offended when the King greater than these earthly leaders will punish you for rebelling against Him? It's been made clear- the consequences of rebelling against the president. And it's been made just as clear- the consequences of rebelling against the Almighty God.
