First off, I love that Paul throws in verse 2, "which God, who never lies...". So often, although we can confidently say we believe that God never lies, we often don't live like we believe it. Think about that. God NEVER lies. Yet when a challenge comes our way, we often get discouraged or get angry with God, as if He misled us into thinking life with Him doesn't include heartache, challenges or trials. We ask God why, as if he told us these things would never happen. May I remind you of the the verse, John 16:33~ "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart, I have overcome the world." Jesus tells outright, that we WILL have tribulation. So when we face times of difficulty, instead of getting angry with God, cling to Him. God NEVER lies, so when He tells us He loves us, He means it! When He calls Himself our Father, He is! When He tells us we are forgiven, we are! Stand firm in the truth of His word, and don't let your human mind of minimal understanding affect the truth of who God is.
